Big Jim Alspaugh, Doc Porter and I bought a partially finished dragster from Frank Held in 1956. We were all members of the original Pipers Hot Rod Club in Columbus, Ohio. What a bunch of great memories.!

I would really appreciate any emails from my friends of 50 years ago.

Finally a member. Daves dragster was in Hot Rod Magazine September 58, and hot Rod Yearbook 1960. It was called Showrail, and had a flathead then. I own it now and will restore it as close as possible as it was in HRM 58. Hope I can add some pictures later.

Here is one picture when it had a flathead, and one from Detroit Nationals 59 when it had a 354 Hemi, Dave Butler driving. It was called Little Wisdom in 59. Would love to see more photos of the dragster.

Showrail. That is one fine lookin' machine. What class did it run in?

At Detroit Nationals it run in B/D class, it had # 198. It had a 354 Hemi with fuel injection. It will have a Ford flathead as it had from the beginning.
