Damn! I knew better, but I forgot to put threadlocker on one of the bolts holding my 4-speed shifter adapter plate to the T-10 tranny on my '55 Buick. Of course it loosened (after being in there for 3 years) and backed out just enough to jam Reverse and 1st/2nd throws. It had to happen on a run with no (easy) way to fix it until I got home (using 3rd & 4th and making sure I didn't have to back up!!). Yeah, I was a dumb shit, but I thought I'd publicly humiliate myself and confess as a reminder that sometimes it's the simple things that can screw things up (no pun intended!!) and maybe save somebody else the hassle.
