I'd like to see some pictures of the interiors of ultra-low sedans and coupes. And, what are you using for seats when you have allot of the interior taken up by trans and drive shaft?
Here is a picture of a sedan for reference.

I used a 3rd seat out of a caravan. took 5" out of the middle. Since my top chop(3") I need to lower the risers about an inch or so. I kept the stock sliders, just welded angle to them for mounting. 80's-90's dodge caravan. The body is welded to the frame, not channeled. I wish I had a better cam!. Glenn

I too struggled with this problem a few years back. I was building a 32 sedan that was chopped 4 inches and sectioned 6 inches. At my age it is easier to sit flat with legs straight out than to drive half laying down. So what worked out great for me was to drop a pair of stock A model front seats down to the bottom of my frame(stock 32 ford). Even a 6'2" guy can sit up and see out the windshield. I have a long ways to go on my car but know I will be able to see out and have some cushion under my rear to smooth out the bigger bumps. You asked for pictures .....I will see if I can find an old one of what worked for me. Steve

well I can't find a good picture but this picture may help a little. Driveshaft tunnel still needs to be built between the seats and floors made. Steve

side shot......around 54 inches floor to top of roof when I get finished, about as low as I could go without sticking my head out the roof hole to see. Steve

Just measured my MGB GT (hardrtop, fastback model) 37"-38" from floor to headliner and the seats are 18.5" wide at the widest point of the upholstery, seat frame is narrower.
I have a good 6" headroom sitting in it. (I'm 5'9" long torso-neanderthal short legs)
This is probably typical of small "sports cars" so that's where I'd be looking for seats.
I've looked in some of the on the ground channeled sedans and they had recline-o-seats sorta like Ferarris have with the driver's body laying down and their head back just ahed of the rear wheels.

Max Wedge: I hope that stands for the Bad-Ass Mopar engine rather that a "Wedgie-of-the-Fruit-of-the-Looms"! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

All joking aside, I look forward to your pictures, if you don't mind, email them to me, so I don't miss them.
