Florida is getting hit pretty hard now by Charlie. I happen to be a claim adjuster for a prominant Mobile Home insurance company, and will be heading out on Monday to help out with all the claims.
The first week or so I am sure I will be just hammered and have no spare time, but I will be there for 3 weeks or so and was wondering if there is anything coming up that might be worth checking out. I don't mind driving to someplace that is not "hurricane landscaped" either.
I have only been through Florida once, and that was to take the kids to Disney a few years back.
Thanks in advance

Don Garlits Museum of Drag Racing Inc.
13700 SW 16TH Avenue Ocala, Florida 34473 1-877-271-3278
Off I-75 at Exit 341 in Ocala.
Directions, hours & pictures at Gartlits Museum (http://www.garlits.com/html/_drag_racing.html)
I was there in '94...great place, full of history. And Gartlits is sometimes there as well.

If your down south at all...PM me your cell phone number and I'll take you to Ragtops and have a little BBQ in WPB. It's pretty much a really big vintage car lot (BIG BUCKS...but still fun to look at)..

Ditto Don Garlits' museum.
Additionally, if you're in Orlando and looking for a place to eat, check out the Race Rock Cafe. It's on International Drive near Disney World in the touristy part of town.

Uuhhhh, You probably have more work than you think... there are entire parks wiped out down there. any idea how many you have to check out?
If you find out you have extra time, give me a call, I'll be back from Detroit after the 22nd, I have a friend who's renting a condo on Redington Beach (St Petersburg) The week after Labor Day, no Charley landscaping up here. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif Very laid back.
Biff Burger every Friday for cars, Saturday for bikes Biff Burger (http://www.geocities.com/cavevader/biffburger/st_petersburg.htm)
Garlits for sure. If you only have time for one thing, Garlits.
Or you could come over to my barn and help me get my '52 running http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
