been looking at different vehicles i could hack up to make a tub.Any ideas or links to scratch built tubs.I'm thinking about a small 4 seater, open of course and built on a budget.Hopefully trade out a lot of the labor i can't do for labor i can do.

Now Im not saying I condon it but Ive seen two or three VW beetle bodys turned into tubs. Seems wierd but the frames were custom, one had a chevy in it and one had some wierd four banger. I do think that there is enough old iron out there to use the real deal though. I mean when people are like "whats that?" You'll have to say its a VW http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
How about this?

ok, heres my idea....go find a big van and use the rear upper corners...turn them upside down and use for the back corners...use the door skins for the sides and rear cross pannel....the roof for the floor...now for the cowl use the front fenders top edge with the curve...for the sides and use more of the side pannels for the top and sides...im not sure if this all makes sence or not...but i think you could get enough corves and crowned pannels from a big van to build a tub easy...if you have some metal skills....good luck with it though....if it were me i would just build from scratch...but thats just how i am

How about an old Tilt a Whirl? You know, like in 'Explorers'?
