I might sound like a restorer instead of a hot rodder, but I am curious.

What color was the firewall painted on a non-black 32? Was it black or body color?

I have looked at some restored cars, but they are all black...

What got me thinking about this is my neighbor's 31 Lincoln roadster. Since the body was coach built, Lincoln sent a running chassis, including the firewall to the body builder. Lincoln painted the firewall engine color, which was green. It just looked odd under the hood of a maroon and black car.

Just thought it was interesting...

I'm sure the firewalls were painted black to save on production costs. Unlike the Model A the '32 had a firewall that was not part of the body and matching colors on the assembly line would have slowed down the production of cars.
