Been watching the weather channel and I see Hurricane Charlie has grown to a Level 4 and has made a turn and is heading towards Ft. Myers and up towards Orlando. I want to wish everyone in its path the best... Stay safe....

Thanks guys. Its taken a turn, so Tampa Bay may have dodged the bullet again. There's a few confirmed tornado sightings inland, which sucks. I sandbagged on Wednesday night, so I think we're about as ready as we can be.
Best of luck to anyone in the path. Charley looks pretty nasty.
Thanks, I got Turdpac the raptor "The Shop Bird" and Chainsaw "the shop cat" In the shop with me and my car. Should be safe there unless the cat and bird get into it.

Thanks Boones. You better be on the look out come Sunday though. I packed up the dogs this morning and ran to higher ground. Just got home and everything fine at my house i.e. didn't lose in parts and the wagon's fine. Orlando is next in it's path.

Looks like it is going to drop by SC and see us next.... thou it should go north of charleston by a 20 to 40 miles and only be a Cat 1 or 2 when it hits landfall again..
Spent the afternoon getting the house and yard ready...

We are just fine right now (60 miles West of Orlando), just
a little windy. Orlando is getting bombed.
Wish Nads and Draglinks good luck!

How's it going down there? My grandparents have a house in Tampa - did that get missed? I've got a friend farther south....he hasn't call me yet to tell me they're ok.....what about Gulf Shores Alabama? The panhandle got hit didn't it? or not yet?
Maybe I should turn on the TV and watch the news, huh? :P

Well Hurricane Charley is making landfall about 20 miles north of me, so we got lucky and are only getting 40 mile winds with some gust alittle higher. expect to clear out shortly.

We dodged another bullet, our luck cannot can't go on forever.
I feel for the people in it's path. 3 deaths so far. This is going to top Andrew for damage. It would have been 10 times as high had it hit Tampa Bay. There wouldn't be an insurance co. left in FL.

HONEY IM HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well fellow Hambers thanks for keeping us in your thoughts.
My house had several trees down on and around it. the streets were blocked. power lines down. tree crashed through the corner of the roof(not that bad) and one through the carport. the fence is gone and almost a week later we still have no power.
The shop as of today now has power and will reopen in the AM Friday.(payday baby)
all in all we are GOOD....Ive been cutting trees and drinking beers with everyone within earshot!!!
