I've heard of two, maybe 3 different ways to lower the front of a 49-54 Ford.
Flip spindles
Spring pocket changes
Coil cutting
What are the pro and cons of each. It's a 4 door, I don't want to clip it or MII it. Too $$

This is what I'm gonna use....
$62!!!
This is an easy to use kit - just remove the rivets (drill them out) from the lower A-arm coil spring cup and bolt these into place. Will lower average car approximately 2" to 2-1/2" without cutting coils (full spring height is retained). Complete kit includes hardware and instructions.

I lowered the front of my 23 Merc with the set up HC used.
Works greeat. Got mine from Night Prowlers in Lamar, Mo.
Only precaution is drill the rivets carefully, you do not want oversize holes.
The bolts in the kit should fit tight.
You can do it in less than a day with a sharp bit.

I did my 51 with the same kit but in the home made version. Re-alignment is a snap and you retain spring travel.
Do not cut your coils unless you want to drive like a grandma everywhere. Cut coils make too much damn noise, ride like crap and make alignment a painful ordeal.
I have a friend that bought the dropped spindles from Night Prowlers and he really likes 'em. I coudn't do those because I cam't justify spending the 3 hundred plus bucks. They do make alignment the easiest out of all of 'em, though.

i have used the spacers twice on 50 fords..it says lowers 2 1/2 inches with 1 inch spacer..both times after all that work the car was 1 inch lower, i would also cut 1 coil, pobly work out nice..

I cut 2 coils out of my front, dearched leaves with 3" blocks in the back and she still rides as well as it did before lowering. Every now and then you will get a good smack but it keeps me awake. I also cut all the bumpstops down to 1/2".
Denver has the worst roads I have ever seen besides New York so I am happy with my setup.
