<font color="blue"> YUP! After 4 months of hard work, selling tools and sundry it came to an end.
It's been a hard road and I put everything into it (then some)
Just a sign of the way business has been for a cuppla months. Mostly the fact that there are clients who pay and those you gotta chase 'til you're blue in the face!!!! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif
Profitability don't kill a co. cashflow does tho'
He will continue and service my clients and no doubt in time flourish as he has a great wee business.
I have had a week to cast the net. I could see it coming.
I believe next week will bring new horizons and opportunities.
On the plus side, because of my shear determination and effort my ex Boss gave me a Honda XL 75 trail bike to get going for my 8 yr old Son. We will work on it together and no doubt make it look the part! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
It will be our first real project together and a cuppla custom touches should see it just spot on!
Ideal for the farm and going up the drive to get mail.
Anyways, here's to positive thinking and the future of possibilities......
Just thought I would share.
Cheers,
C

Good luck on your new ventures!
Take it from someone who has lost his job five times due to downsizing in the last 30 yrs.
As the saying goes, as you leave and shut the door behind you, there's always another to open. Good luck !

I think everyone could benefit from an attitude like yours, keep it up even in hard times.. good things happen to good people; usually after really crappy stuff happens to good people! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

c-bass, you'll do fine. just keep your head up brother, it happens over here in the US too. At least you know that your
boss prolly wasn't happy to let you go, that's gotta suck to
be in his position as well. It can't be fun to tell a good employee that they can't stay anymore. I'll send some new job mojo your way...cool? good luck man

Positive attitude is a powerful tool.
This would be the point where I ask myself "What do I want to be this time?"
Best wishes.

As others have said. You've got a great attitude. It's hard to keep a positive outlook when this stuff happens, but you've got your priorities right. The family is first.
My son and I rebuilt a Honda 50 trailbike for him when he was 8.He beat the crap out of it.He's 28 now and we still laugh about those days. Jobs come and go,but your family will be there if you let 'em. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I don't know if you've sold stuff on eBay or not but it can help generate some cash flow. It is not just car stuff, there may be something local that is collectable in other parts of the world. If someone wants it they will pay for it and shipping. Good luck.

<font color="brown"> Thanx Jim http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif
Well, there has been progress and I go into bat again next week.
Life is full of possibilities and sometimes these situations help reveal your own character.
It is nice to know when situations, good, bad or indifferent strike, there is the HAMB to share with.
Thanx for the kind words as they are well received.
I was made redundant in 1998 and bought a sweet 64 compact Fairlane with that money http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif but this time round I told the guy to keep his money! I got a week's holiday pay which will add to the coffers, so that is OK.
The economy here is still fairly bouyant so I have little fear that possibilities will turn into definites!
To quote Dr Robert Schuller "Tough times never last, tough people do!"

Cool flooring product. Whats it sell for?
Cruisin'

In NZ, I sell the tiles for $7.50 ea, edges $2.50 ea, corners $1.50 ea. Add 12.5% Goods and Services Tax on top.
8 tiles wide x 20 tiles long would cost you about $1500.00 approx. NZ dollars inc. GST.
That's what one person is having done to his workshop. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
