from a basket case to this in two days flat. big thanks to fathack for sticking it out for a 17 hour thrash last saterday so i could go to work on monday. should make it down to joplin no problem. final look for this beast will be early 70's street racer. by the way once i find a new daily driver this will be handed back to its owner my girl friend. since the orig plan was for me to build it for her. and she looks damn good in it let me tell you! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif sorry for the off topic but a few have asked for pics of this thing. i all so wanted to thank crestliner for hooking me up with a parts car. the whole front clip came from the donar car i went down to ft branch indiana for a few weeks back. any suggestions on color?

That was my favorite car when I was a teenager. And yes, I had a mullet then. You can't do wrong with classic GM marina blue, or maybe lemans blue (both the 60's versions of the colors). I think it looks damn good black, but you gotta get that ass DOWN...
BTW, my mulletmoble marks it's territory all over the place too..

get the ass down? i just bought 2 inch spring spacers so i can fit my new taller tire on!! it has to be sitting sky high in the ass! and im taking another inch out of the front. so when i sit in it you will be leaning forward no back any more haha

I think HC was saying that this thing needs DUAL rear wheels and some wicked side pipes that shoot up right in front of the rear wheels.....
paint a big skull with batwings on the hood...and....
Maybe some Kangaroo fur seat covers?
And don't forget your wrist mounted crossbow on you way to work monday.... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
I think that was where HC was going with his statement....
"The Ayatolla of Rock and Rolla....The RULER of the wasteland....etc etc."
BTW...I dig your car. And I'm half serious about the above "custom touches".

Oh...Stangaroo...that big 4x4 stagecoach dude was on an episode of Monster Garage's "Monster Nation" a while back...he built all sortsa odd shit.

It could work even tho the original car that had those above mentioned mods was a Australian 1973 Ford Falcon XA coupe seen here http://www.madmaxmovies.com/cars/madmax2/RedXACoupe/index.html
i wanted to do a 70-71 Ford Torino sportsroof that way since they too resemble the 72-78 Australian Ford Falcon coupe.

my first car was a marina blue '68 chevelle. attempted many dumb-ass driving stunts in it, too! too bad i never quite finished getting the brakes bled, as that eventually led to it's demise...still, that's my favorite year. mf5
