Thanks , I am thinking about getting internet access at home so I can bore all of you with my car pictures and lame ass tech tips. I am cheaper than most so I have investigated the free for 10 hrs. companies. I do not need the e-mail and I have regular access at work here I just can't use this one for a lot of things.
Are these a ripoff ? I assume they expect you to use more time and charge accordingly . What do you think ?

[/ QUOTE ] Then tell AOL you want to cancel and they will give you two MORE months. I called them for 9 months trying to cancel and they wouldnt do it. I finally closed my bank account to get rid of aol.

My daughter had AOL and ran into the same problem ,she couldn't cancell. She contacted the credit card Co. and they told her that she had to have a cancell # from aol or they would continue to deduct every month. She dumped the credit card also. Thanks for the help, I'll try it and see where it takes me .

If yer goin' dial-up, my father-in-law really likes Juno. It's real inexpensive, surprisingly fast, and he uses it literally all over the world. (He travels to Egypt 2x/year.)

I can't live without broadband, though. I have cable internet at home, and like it a lot. It makes the internet a much more useful tool than just another source for info. Also, it will bring up all the HAMB's posted photos almost instantly. If you have cable TV, you can probably get a discount on cable internet from the same company (if it's available in your area.) Otherwise DSL can usually come from your phone company.

Don't waste your time with AOL. Its hard to cancel and even worse trying to uninstall
