so strait out of the hack and dirty or dirty hacks speed shop (tm) http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif is the latest greatest muscle car with no muscle to hit the streets of detroit. after the late night scramble to get the 68 chevelle on the road god enough to get me towork monday. ive been steady working on it slowly every night after work. got some new plugs and wires in her got it tunned just about right i tghink. and did 3 trans services on it. why three u ask? well the fluid looks like strawberry milk! car sat in a feild for some time so im told so im guessing a bunch of moisture found its way into the trans, still looks like poop and trans slips a little in 3rd gear cause of it. i figure three more flushes and i should have all the nasty out. any one ever delt with this before? any way back to the progress. yesterday was adjust the drums brakes out so i can stop half way decent. got them spot on but have to turn one of the drums due to it being warped. looks like the onley orig drum left on the car. today i orderd up some new wheels and tires for it. be getting them saterday. got some weld knock offs. 15x7 front with a 235/70 up front and a 15x8 255/75 out back. leats i think thats what i got lol http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif the tires are cooper cobras. ran them on my old buick years back and i liked the tire so i thought hell 4 more will do me just fine. today i got the head lights and tail lights working finaly. one tip. when seeing if your head lights work never go by if the dash lights work just cause i forgot the test light http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif oops. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif tommrows plan is to try to clean up the white vynal interior. this is where my question comes into play. as i said the car sat in a feild for some time. and the door panels and seats have some black spots of what looks like mold on them. i tried a bunch of things to get them to clean up today. wealys bleech white, mr clean sponge, varoius other house hold cleaners as well. does any one know how to get this stuff off?? makes what would be nice looking panels look like shit! any help on this would be great.
so saterday is the day i have set to get every thing else done on the car and ready for the trip down to joplin. repack the wheel bearings, turn the front drums, put the dash in it. another coat of spray primer. put the new wheels and tires on and get the wipers/turn signals and other varoius things that dont work yet working. o and install a set of air shocks of some rear spring plate spacers since the new tires will be to tall for the car http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif got to make it xtra mullet freindly u know!
so for any one who cares about my new mullet wagon civic replacment daily drive thing, there's the offcial update. stay tuned for more mullet madness. any one have a cb radio for sale? http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Bryan, sounds like you've been working hard. I have a CB radio here at teh house you can have, antenna and all. I don't think I'll ever use it again. If I need to talk to someone, I'll call them on the phone. You can come and get it Friday after work if you want. I'll be home at 6pm but leaving shortly afterwards for the cruz downriver at Sears.

The black spots are mold, CLR or a spray bottle with 50/50 water bleach mixture. just make sure that you rinse off any ammonia cleaner you have on the panels first, or you might just take a nap while driving it.

I had a trans get water in it once. My trans guy told me death was certain. Something about the water ruining the clutch friction material inside. He was right, within a month, we had to rebuild it.

Shifts would know the trans condition and the probability of its longevity.

I would suggest you contact an upholstery person about cleaning the spots off the door panels.
Some cleaning agents are not vinyl friendly.
I uwed an Armorall cleaner on a vinyl top once, and had to replace the top.
The Armorall dried out the vinyl and it shredded.
I suspect that some of the cleaners you have tried may not be vinyl friendly.
Hope you have been more fortunate than I.

so i tried clr and bleech and water today on the panels. no luck. this shit is not comming off at all. i could just buy some kills spray bombs and take care of it that way then just spray some white vynal paint on it http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif had break down with it today. the wires that me and hack ran for the super high tech push button starter melted to the header. the rubber hose sheething was match for the hot starter even, the same wire allso powerd the ignition. so it was dead in the water. lucky i had some xtra wire and electrical tape in the trunk. so i just twited and taped them back together. u know like your supose to http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif i like to do big smokey burn outs http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
