It occurs that I've never introduced myself here, so here goes.
My name is Dale Van Zant, and I am the President of the SoCal chapter of the Road Devils car club. You may or may not know us, but we are a club dedicated to traditional hot rods and customs, with a history that goes back to 1946. I do custom work out of my garage in Valley Center, CA, and call my buisness "DVZ Kustoms".
My daily driver is a 1949 Chevy kustom coupe, and every bit of work on the car is mine. 6" chop, frenched headlites, peaked hood, shaved, 55 Plymouth tail lights, '49 Poncho rear bumper, etc.
I also built and drag race a 1940 Chevy with 455 Pontiac power. Currently has a hot rod stance, but I'll soon be putting it back to it's gasser roots. You may have seen a feature on it a couple issues back in Ol Skool Rodz called "the Devil's Grocery Getter". And, I built a '57 Ford sedan for my wife (up for sale) and stuffed a 400ci Poncho in there, too. I also have a '28 Model A coupe waiting for some love.
Lastly, I write a regular "back page" column for Car Kulture DeLuxe called "The Boulevard Crawl". It's a commentary on the Car Culture...trends, cars, music, whatever.
Some of my junk...
Little skater girl wants to get diddled in a sled, I think...

(If you have seen this '52 Fleetline Kustom, I'd love to find it. Sold it about 12 years ago...The driver's seat is shaped just like my ass...)
