I thought that specs were posted on making your own english wheel. I checked the tech o matic and found nothing. Could someone give me the thread if it has been discussed already or if it hasn't give me the run down on creating my own out of common junkyard material.
I want to create custom fenders and seat for my mini bigwheel chopper/ cruiser trike.

Hey thanks!
That dosn't look very hard to build on a saturday. Does it matter what radius the bottom bearing is? I have seen everything from flat to round bearings on the bottom bearing.

I found an airplane shop in town that sells among other things used berings and machined pieces out of stainless. They had a piece that I can use for a bottom roller for 3 bucks. There also is a place in town that sells industrial casters. I will use one of those for the top roller.
I think that I can get the whole thing put together for about 30 to 40 dollars.
Thanks to everyone for the reference sites. I will have to do a play by play on the build when I do it this winter.

Hey Sledz,
I'd be interested in watching this one go together. I've been wanting to build some stuff that I can work metal with...

raven,
I am going to get all the stuff together for a january or feburary project. I will document the whole thing and submit it to the HAMB upon completion.
The more I look at the benchtop english wheels on the internet the more I think that I could knock this out in a saturday or two. I can't put it together until I get the shed cleaned out on the back of the house cause I just don't have any room in the garage.

If you want to do it in my garage on a Saturday, I'll make sure there's room and take pics. It may take a little longer though, since I'd be duplication your every move right after you...
