View Full Version : Any pics of Early fords converted into pickups ?
We know that many cars were converted into pickups, log splitters, table saws and other pieces of machinery or tooling. I've decided to sell my 1931 Ford 5 window pickup on the Hamb Classifieds but was wondering if anyone had any cool pics of morphed early fords. Bring em on .

Wes, Gimme a pm and we can talk . Oh BTW, here's the skinny on the 5 window pickup..............
1931 Ford 5 window Coupe Pickup. Real deal, All Steel. Car was originally modified in the mid 1940's at Fox Movie Studios , Hollywood, Ca. ( 1 of 8 )as for use as grounds vehicles on the studio's lot. ( like the golfcarts of today )The rear bed conversion had been done quite nicely for the era , sheetmetal is straight ,not rusty and could easily be returned to the stock configuration with not much work. I personally like it as it is for it's uniqueness, rarety, and the overall good condition. This car just recently came out of a long dry storage and appears to have never been wrecked or rusted in the past and still shows no signs of rust out. Inside wood is still good and usable. The frame and suspension components are straight and very usable. Original flathead 4 cylinder motor became tight in early 70's from sitting and was disassembled and remains as so today. The motor is included as a basket case and is fairly complete . Original transmission is still intact in the vehicle. The top of the body was filled with sheetmetal and screw hardware. All glass panes have either scratches and/or cracks. Body sheetmetal is solid, and straight. The doors and latches open and close freely. This vehicle has included the old black and yellow California license plates as well as California title. Tires are new vintage Firestone bias ply 5.00x16 on front and 6.50x16 on 1940 ford wheels and are not included but can be purchased separately . A nice set of 5 original 19" wheels are included and have roller tires and no rust . steering and mechanical brakes work well as they should for a car this clean. Last painted job was sprayed by Earl " The Pearl " Scheib back in 1968. I sure would hate to chop it myself but, It sure would look Cool and be very unique.
