I'm going...hoping to meet up with a bunch of people Saturday evening and I heard rumor about a breakfast meeting. This is the first time I've had my head out of the books for almost a year (38 y/o full time student due to another corporate downsizing http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif).

Bringing my dad along...it's been a while since he went to a cruise and he is show signs that the "car bug" has come out of remission! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif Looks like he made reservations at the Red Roof Inn in Battlecreek.

Frank,
I was at the shop yesterday getting tattooed by Jime' and talking about Sunday with him and Jeff both...we were going over the parking lot situation, because there's some construction going on that's "supposed" to be done before the show... they are already planning on putting you guy's and the Flint guy's in your "usual" spot, in front of the mexican resturant, if that's cool with you guy's.

Something different this year tho, Jeff is working on dash plaques with the poster artwork on them,...YOU MUST HAVE A TRADITIONAL STYLED CAR TO GET INTO THE PREFERRED PARKING AREA!!!!, and to get your dash plaque! Everyone else will be kindly advised to park on the side streets.

You guy's know the drill:
Pre-'65
No billet
No tweed
No Pro Street
NO ATTITUDES!...yada, yada, yada....

It's looking like it's gonna be another big show, with several new cars showing up...see you guy's there.

Well, I HAVE to be there, being the Grand Puba of the Mid-Michigan Chapter of Gay Bitches of Michigan!
I hope my Fezz is back from the dry cleaners in time.

Besides, I wanna show off my new ride, Fine 'line.

Sounds like we've got some HAMBers coming from the far ends of the earth to be there, sure wouldn't wanna miss that.

The girls running the gate at BilletProof were a little lax in their discrection at what they let in, mainly, if it looked like an "old car", they let it in,...that's not gonna happen here,...nothing personal!...just be forwarned, you'll be told if you can park in the shop lot or not, and, only traditional style cars get the dash plaques....

GOD HATES ME! I just had to cancel my flight to Detroit (have to stay here and secure the house, dogs, barn, GF)

Hurricane Charley is planning on being here Friday afternoon. 110 mph, 10 foot storm surge, boats on people front lawns, mobile home uprooted, you know, just another day in paradise.

I can re-schedule a flight before Sept 15th with no extra charge, so I'm thinking of coming up the next weekend so it isn't a total loss.

I know there won't be many HAMBers in town because of the Drags, but who will be there? Not neccessarily at the WDC, but just in town for a beer/coffee and BS? Mr.Gasser? Roadstar? Fuel Pump?

I'm gonna try my damndest to talk Fat Hack into staying home and hanging with me, but I'd understand if didn't.

Sorry I'm going to miss you V8Minor, I was looking forward to some good craik(spelling?)

Denise, Can you hand off my spindles to someone who will be in town that weekend Friday night?

Donzie, PM me your address, I'll send you your shifter, unless you are are gonna be home.

P.S. I just heard they are calling for a direct hit on Pinellas, first time since '21. County EMS is calling for a evacuation from 6 tonight til 1 PM tommorow (my flight was at 12:25 http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif) Wish me, Voodoo, DV8, MBL, BigGums and all the other Tampons luck.

P.P.S. Spirit doesn't go to Kansas City

I can grab the spindles for ya Mikey...I live a hiccup away from Denise, and will probably see her and the Crew at Sears on Friday night.

HRTH, your car is older than 65...there were a few mid 60s rides (and one primered Camaro!) there last year...hope ya can make it down!

It's a great time...Mr Gasser is a Helluva host, walked right up and greeted me last year...you'd be hard pressed to meet a cooler HAMB Dude!

FatHack, the spindles need to be handed off to someone who will be in town NEXT week, someones who's NOT going to the HAMB Drags. Are you saying your not attending?

Of course since the spindles aren't mine, this will have to be cleared thru Charlie Chops.

HRTH...Steve, really, I'm not trying to be a dick, and, I'm not singleing anyone out, and it has nothing to do with being "cool enough", but dude, Pro Street is Pro Street, doesn't matter if it's an '02, '62, or a '32,...flat black, Candy Red, or purple and mauve,...it's still not "traditional"

Per a "Deadbeat" thats not a HAMB member, he asked me to post:

This is a Deadbeat gathering, NOT BilletProof, there are NO rules at all regarding car year cut off or styling. Lots of the Deadbeats have cars that wouldn't qualify. Bring whatever you want, just come and have a good time.

He also mentioned that car clubs will be parking together and they kind of already have that laid out. If ANYONE has any questions you can ask them here cuz they are watching this thread.

I may even convince my dad, "boob-hater", and his dad to attend. Boob-Hater (Brian) has the black bucket with the flathead and red wire wheels, that is usually at Frankenmuth, and his dad is the dude with the V-12 powered T-bucket.

MrGasser
08-13-2004, 11:08 AM
First off, I want to appologize to Ryan for wasting his bandwidth on sissy/high-school drama,...that's not what I come here for. Normally, I wouldn't do this, but, I feel I need to defend myself. And anyone this doesn't concern, don't get your panties in a wad, I cleared it with Ryan first.

This thread was supposed to be to relay info and answer questions about the Broken Cruise...not become a platform for someone who feels they need to validate themselves constantly.

The Broken Cruise started as a small get-together of friends to bring their cars, relax, bar-b-q, eat, and sling some One-Shot. It's now turned into an "event", which presents it's own set of problems.
The Deadbeat's, who host this deal, and all their friend's who help, do an INCREDIBLE job, and DO have the right to decide which cars can park in their very limited space. The people who have been here before, know and understand that. They don't charge for any of this, it's all free!...the food, the entertainment, everything!

Apparently, there was some mis-communication and mis-information between some Deadbeat's club members, and myself,....no big deal, happens all the time, and it was about to all be straightened out and corrected on this thread, by us, when some "johnny-come-lately", "jump-on-the-traditional car bandwagon" wannabe, who has never even been to the show before, had to stick their ass in where it doesn't belong!....and it has happened before!,...(BilletProof Detroit),...but I never said anything about it, and let it slide, being the gentleman that I am. That's not gonna happen again.

Respect?....your reputation earns you respect...you build your own car, or attempt to build your own car, or even try to learn how to work on your own car, I can respect that...even if you didn't build your own car, but you're up front and honest, I can respect that too,...hell, there's a million ways to earn respect...
...but having a pussy between your legs and making cookies, DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY COMMAND RESPECT!!

Kritz,...yes, you and Steve(HRTH), and the rest of the Flint crew, have spots in front of the mexican restaurant with the Midland and Bay City boys,...you don't have to park across the street.
Everyone is welcome, drive what ever you want. If anyone has a problem with me, I'll be there, I'm not hard to find...

Ryan, again, sorry, and thanks for letting me speak my piece. This won't happen again.

08-13-2004, 11:36 AM
FUCK YOU Randy! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif I called a friend yesterday to ask him about our plans for last nite and a Deadbeat answers the phone all pissed off at what YOU posted and asked me to respond on the HAMB. He asked me to post exactly what I did. Your the one who goes shooting off at the mouth that I don't know what I'm talking about.

and yeah, it has happened before, YOU coming up to ME at the Detroit Autorma and telling me I can't get in to BilletProof unless I change my wheels on Big Olds. Well FUCK YOU, my wheels have been around since the 60's, you think I was just going to take that shit from you, hell no, I contacted Kirk and told him what you were saying. Seems like you were staying the same shit to other folks as well. Poor Randy, got his hand slapped by Kirk and it's all my fault, and now he doesn't like me... boo, hoo hoo, aks me if I give a shit.

As far as respect goes, respect isn't related to cars asshole, it's related to life. Treat people with respect and kindness and in return a person should be treated the same. All you would have had to do was apolgize for talking to me the way you did at Autorama and the whole thing would have been dropped, but no you carry on and on and wanna air the dirty laundry on the internet. Why? wasn't the nasty PM you sent to me enough?? Talk about childs play.

and the reason I've never been to the BDC before?.... I was actually cruzn my hot rod 6,000 miles to Speed Week at B'ville this time last year. You wanna see a poser.... look in the mirrror.

I’m really glad to see that a couple of older adults know how to fucking muzzle it, in order to keep the peace among common friends. You don’t like someone fine, there plenty of muther fuckers out there I don’t like, you tolerate them out of respect for the common friendships involved, if those friendships mean a damn thing to either of you.

heh,heh,heh....still perpetuating that Autorama lie are ya?, tisk,tisk,...even your "friend" knows the truth about that, as do all the other folks that were standing around and heard the conversation,...and for the record, Kirk didn't "slap my wrist", he told me the reason he didn't even call me about it, was because he knows me, and didn't fucking know you!

oh yeah, "posuer",...ha ha, that's a good one!

KIRK!

If either of you consider me a friend, you'll leave me out of this. Everyone doesn't have to get along. Thanks.

Randy: "You going to get new wheels and tires for your car before Billetproof?"

Denise: "Why? What does it matter?"

Randy: "Cuz you won't be getting in with those Americans"

Denise: "and why not?"

Randy: "because they're not traditional, that's why"

and we proceeded to argue whether Americans were "traditional" enough for Billetproof.

and if Kirk didn't contact you about what you said to me, how did you know I even called him then?? huh? and if the conversation didn't go exactly like i said then why didn't you just hand me a Billetproof card when you walked up to me? You handed one to Rudy and another one to Race, who by the way doesn't even have a car, then you "dangle" one in front of me and ask me if I'm going to change the wheels on my car. You were outta place and you know it.

Sunday at Autorama you then came up to me and called it a "big misunderstanding". Misunderstanding my ass, you just thrive on causing trouble. But I then let it go and didn't say another word, YOUR one who keeps bringing up the "issue".

There's only one other person who heard, and participated, in the whole conversation and he will not have to choose sides since he is friends of both of ours. I'll be staying civil for his sake.

Randy, Denise, I know both of you and respect what you each bring to our "sport", for the lack of a better term. It appears to me there was a big misunderstanding or perhaps some miscommunication as to what the "rules" were going to be for this event. It sounds like Randy was told one thing and Denise another. Both being messengers with conflicting info. Whatever happened in the past should be water under the bridge. We really don't care. You don't have to be best buddies but just lighten up for sake of all those concerned. We'd all like to have fun and I'm sure you'd both like to show our long distance fellow HAMBers a good time.
Looking forward to seeing both of you again Sunday

Good god. With a mouth like that, what does your food taste like?

You gotta chill the hell out and lighten up. No sport, hobby, or activity is worth that much wound-up stress.

Remember, this may be a forum between the many of you participating in it, but it is also a reflection on the people doing the rodding.

Cool it starts at 1pm.

Do you have an address on Wodward that I can throw at mapquest?

I'm leaving Cleveland at 6 am tomorrow to get to Battle Creek, check out the cruise there and heading towards breafast at 10 am Sunday SOMEWHERE on Woodward. I'm driving a late model chevy truck and need to know:

1. Where am I going to on Woodward? Corner of Woodward and????

2. Where can I park without getting bitch slapped, robbed or truck stolen!? I assume that there will be some off the main drag parking...my dad had a knee replaced recently and can't walk a mile http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

3. Is anybody going to this Battle Creek cruise or will be going through Battle Creek at about 7-8 am Sunday and wouldn't mind a truck following them? If not PM me and I'll give ya my cel #
