ok, so i'm gonna go traditional and just lower my '51 chev, no air bags right now. here's the question: to lower the rear (leaf springs), can i just buy lowering blocks for, say, an s-10 type suspension, or are there differences in leaf spring suspensions? i need some direction, please.
also, be lookin' for me to host an informal HAMB SLAM in the very near future, lotsa pictures!

You can use any old lowering blocks from auto zone or where ever but I believe you'll need the square U bolts for a stock 51 rear end.
Also if your using off the shelf blocks I wouldn’t go to low or you off set will be messed up.
If you don't have anyone close by that can help you fab up you own blocks it might be best to order some from Night Prowlers. I'm pretty sure they have block with the right spring pin location and U bolts.
I'll try to find a night prowlers link for ya.

Often our 40's and 50's cars use 2" wide springs. A modern lowering block is often too wide, they are made for modern cars which have wider springs.
