It is unfortunate that some newbies get bashed the way they do. No one deserves to get verbally abused, but I see why some might get frustrated with the "intro". Any message board I've ever been on I usually watch and learn a little before jumping right in, so as not to offend anyone(at least right away http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif). I understand some intros are a bit ignorant, and maybe some have just cause for a degree of critisism. I am by far a PC type of person, and I'm not after a kinder gentler world. I think the degree of bashing could be lessoned, but to an extent, maybe some is warranted to help keep out the spam and maybe people who aren't into vehicles that fit the board. The HAMB is a nice closeknit group of people that all share the same passion, without the bullshit you find on other boards, and maybe, just maybe without the "intro police" that might slowly get compromised. One thing thats wierd is eveyone uses the "Garage" metaphor when refering to the hamb. No garage I've ever visited nessesitated a lengthy biographical statement before saying hello or asking a question.
