Did a quick intro on newbie Greg's thread. I retired in June of '07 after 39 years in education 30 as a shop teacher and 9 as an assistnat principal in the same high school. I own a 2004 Chevrolet SSR, yellow with 120 louvres in the hood, K&N Air, SuperChip computer, and Dynamax headers. Phantom flames and Von Dutch style pinstriping on the tailgate and waterfall between the seats by Anthony White and Alan Johnson. My retirement project is a 32 Ford pick up that I bought from Dave Simard. It is now in pieces in my garage, basement, backyard, living room, etc. etc. It's an old California street rod and I have the 1964 title and plate. I found the original owner on the internet and found out that the truck has an original Dago front axle done by the late Ed Stewart who's son is still doing business on the west coast. I'll post pictures as soon as I can.
See ya for now

Welcome Oldschoolphart! You must have the patience of Job to work that long in a high school! I am new here as well.

Like many other educators after being in the same place for so long you develop (earn) a reputation. I was fortunate enough to get along with my students and earned their respect. There are some down sides also. It was my 30th year and I was still in the classroom. As usual during the first couple of weeks you are trying to get to know the kids. While taking attendance I recognized a surname and asked the kid if I had his older brother a few years back. He replied..."No, you had my father." What a shock. That was the first of many. I was 22 when I started teaching at the school and if you think about it there were probably some seniors in my classes who were 18 or 19. Oh well, but pretty neat.
