Bonneville info wanted, please.

Hello:
I just discovered and singed up to this forum today. I have never been to Bonneville speed week and decided this is the year. I would appreciate hearing what days to attend to see the most action, and particularly the day(s) the 40's and 50's vintage cars run.
What about accomodations? I will be flying in from Detroit. Where to, Salt Lake City?
Any other tips, ideas, suggestions would be appreciated.

Mike, This year Speedweek begins 8/17 and runs thru the weekend. You will see cool stuff any time, but the rat rods will probably be around the 17th and 18th cruising Wendover and on the salt. Try the Red Garter for a room (we were lucky there). rooms may be scarce. See if you can get a pit pass. Check out our website which has lots of pics and some good tips for a "salt virgin" like yourself. Remember, the sun reflects off the salt, and you can get sun-burned in the darndest places......
