Price is my absolute bottom line, sorry guys. I was trying to get 12k for it- I saw an ebay ad that was pretty much the same thing selling for 16k so I figured i'd try 12k, but no luck locally. A rolling c1 corvette frame sold last month for 9500- no engine/ tranny or body.
I traded my '23 t for it, thinking I'd have time to get it road worthy. I thought wrong. I simply have no time for a 2nd project car. oh well, thats the way things go.
Perfect for a gasser project.
It has a clear title - 1959 corvette. Has vin plate on the frame, but I dont have the body tag. The frame is a 1959 corvette frame. The body is an aftermarket 1957 corvette.
Car needs a lot of work. As it sits right now, the major work is as follows... It needs a floor, firewall, body supports and mounts made for the body. As it sits, it is mouned to the frame with a lot of wood supports. In needs a complete rear suspension- right now its just a piece of steel tubing going through the ubolts, bolted to the frame. It needs a master cylinder, etc to hook the brakes up. it needs body and paint work. it needs to have a fuel cell made. It has steel lines ran to the trunk where there is a gas can that the engine is fed off of. It has mustang bucket seats and they'll need to be mounted once a floor is made. Then it will need a shifter put in from the transmission. Thats pretty much it.
It has a '66 chevy 283 and matching transmission (not sure what it is- maybe you can help??? I have the casting number). The brakes arent hooked up so it cant stop, so I never tested the transmission. I was told buy the previous owner that it worked just fine. I have no reason to not believe him, he's a real helpful guy. The body is a 1957 one piece fiberglass body from the late 60s or early 70s. They were made as promotional bodies for chevy dealerships (or so i was told). The frame and title are 1959 corvette. Rear end is a ford 9", drilled to a chevy pattern. The front axle is a custom made race axle from MAS. Coilover front suspension. Fuel line is ran to the trunk. I can run the engine for you, it runs very strong..
