Saw this at Louisville, and it screams creativity.
Anyone share any information on the owner and truck?

i saw it at GG Indy in june, the owner said it was made from a 1946 chevy pickup , i beleive parts of two hoods were used in forming the grille, not sure what from...yes, it was neat, that's why it won the 1946 "Diddler Award"

That absolutely ROCKS!!!!

We saw it at the nationals too....haven't found my pictures of it yet. That's bitchin' that he used so many different year parts and built something really cool!

Does anybody recognize what the grille that's under the dash, starting the center console is? There's a chrome oil pan used for the transmission tunnel and a connecting rod for a brake pedal.

Very Creative!!!!!!

The grill under the dash is a 1942-47 Chevrolet pickup dash.
That was the first rod I seen upon arriving at Louisville.
He was staying at the same hotel. Our jaws dropped to the ground. What a cool looking truck. The more you look at it the more creativity you find. Yes he belongs here.

I saw that at Indy and I told him I was pissed! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif I was going to use a 36 Terraplane grille on my new "top secret" project. Back to the drawing board, I guess. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

As someone mentioned earlier it was built by Ted Houchins of south Indy area. Greenwood, or Franklin or someplace down there. He sold it at GoodGuys Indy. Don't know who owns it now.

There were nearly 12,000 rods at the Nats. Why did I know exactly which truck was the subject of this post? http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I like most of the truck, but not the grill. Those grills always look like a big vagina to me, and big vaginas are sloppy. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Nawwww, c'MON purple.......an EDSEL grill looks like a sloppy vagina! That Terraplane looks like narrow BUSH! Note the narrow (pink!?) center strip? http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif Now admit it, you like it better.
Oh yeah, back on topic, funky, but I DO like the truck.

That IS a 37 Terraplane grille, NOT a 36. The 37 has the louvered sides, the 36 does not.
