Although, I fell short of my true goal of having it up and running by August 3rd I feel really good about what I’ve accomplished this summer. My good friend Von Tingler came back to my house after the art opening in Louisville this last weekend. He helped me put the cab and bed on the frame. Thanks man but, I’ll need you to help me take off now. HAHAHA… just kidding. It’s staring to look like something now. Later this week I’ll be putting the engine in and then most of you now what’s next… Here are progress pics… Later and thanks, BS http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Cool! I would ditch the taillights, unless you are gonna mount them on the truck itself. I like the look so far, can't wait to see the front end.

I was just trying to figure out how to post some pics of your truck without looking like a total homo.... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Then you went and posted pics! Cool....

I'm glad we skipped the nats to get this done. Although we missed out on some fun, you definitely got a lot done on your truck.

ITs looking GREAT! and you don't have far left to go....

And just to clarify...
I had a blast at your place. There is nothing better in the world than working on a vehicle and drinking beer with a good friend.

.......well......
Maybe a couple things would be more fun........

but they involve things that will get a married man in lots of hot water... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Looks good!

What make of front axle and spring did you use?

I noticed that the bones don't look split.

I have a 36 PU that is still running on the original front end and needs to be dropped bad!

I bought the cab out in Kansas and Von Tingler went out together and picked it up. Then I bought a stock roller from Albama. Tingler, also went then. I was going to run a flathead and build more of a trad. truck . But then changed my mind and started over this summer. I took it all apart and sold the flatty and build this thing with a SBC. I started with the frame pluged alot of hole and boxed it up new raer end 8" and new front end , new center for the X member new wheels and tire, too much alot of work and I'm only 1/2 way there. later, http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

RC, I did split the wish bones from the stock. I had to do ALOT of bending on the wish bones and the spring hangers. Here is a pic. Hope this helps.

Here are some more RC, of the front end I had to bend the wishbones in two different places. But, there are other ways. I just had a front poise spring that I need to use.

OK, now I see what you did.

I have toyed with that myself, but right now I am thinking about using Speedways 4 bar setup for the 35-40 ford.

I was going to use a 4" drop axle and a super slider spring.

That way I don't have to heat and bend the spring hangers around after splitting the bones.

Keep us posted on the progress.

FYI this is my truck.

Wow, looks good B. Sweede!

Hey, either of you two have any spare front fenders? Or some beat up front fenders that I could get some patch peices for my 35 out of? How about rear fenders?

Come on, you guys dont need to save them for the estate auction when you pass on! Pull em outta the attic so they can get some use! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

There is a guy I know of that has some 35 PU stuff. I have NOT been to his house but I have talked to him. I was looking for a better grill, but he did not have one. I was told he has a few fenders bed, etc..

If you want to contact him PM me I have his name and Phone #.

He is in Bridgeport Texas.
