Hello all. Finally decided to sign up here. I find links to the place often while surfing the web, so what the hell. I'm 17, but I don't like dubs on my ride, Escalades, rap, or sound systems that outclass a rock concert. I'm happier with 15 inch Chevy rally wheels and the 350 rumbling. I grew up loving hot rods and muscle cars. Basically, I was born into it. Came home in a clean and custom '78 El Camino, and died laughing in his '74 Camaro (396, bored over, TH400, low 12 second 1/4 on street tires and pump gas, last time he ever drove it, ran a high 9 on a set of slicks and race gas). And, admiring the big ol' tank that has sat since before I was born, his grandmother's 1950 Styleline Delux.
My self, I own a 1969 Chevy CST/10, bought it January '07. Been paying for it on my own, and working on it with my dad the past year. Is an original CST package (top trim level, fairly rare by now). When I got it, it was caked in mold and pollen (love houston humidity), the bed a foot deep in tree bits, minus an engine and trans, and redneck wiring from hell. A shocker when I looked under, and cleaned off the grease from the rear end, to reveal it's a factory Dana 60 axle. Very few of the 2wd 67-72 small-block trucks had the 6-lug Dana 60 stock.
Since then, dropped in a SB350 and TH 350 combo (like original), got it finally running on it's own, minus chugging gas from a 1 gallon can until I finish up redoing fuel lines, and checking this tank out.
How it was when I 1st got it:

Escalade clock, fits nicely, looks clean.
Still working on it slowly. Pretty damn close to a test drive. It's sweet now to start it up, and listen to that ol' 350 rumble.

Up next is front disk brakes (my dad won't let me loose with it until it's got'em) and shoulder belts. Some other odds and ends to make it road happy. Then she'll be on the road. Going for a 4/6 drop, and a set of 15x8 chevy rally wheels up front, and 15x10s in back. But stuck with those farm-truck white wheels for now. May paint them black, and toss a set of trim rings on to loose the farm-truck looks. And fix all the rust, and finish up the interior.
And here's the 1950 Styleline Deluxe of my dads. Straight 6 and a 3-on-the-tree trans. The motor siezed up long ago, shortly after he left highschool. But the car is in TOP shape, no rust and all OG. Sits in storage right now, my dad's retirement project I guess, haha. Still have the original engine and trans. It's future is still undecided. More then likely will be restored into a nice little driver. But we have a full drivetrain from an '89 IROC (was going into the El Camino til a hit-n-run drive totalled while parked one winter). Built TPI V8, built 700R4 and a 3:82 posi rear end. And, while in storage it's housing the TPI V8, and looks lovely in between the voluptuous fenders of that '50.
