Heres some pics of the '39 ford deluxe coupe I bought out of a local yard last week. It was laying flat on the ground and sunk in up to the bottoms of the doors. The trees and crap were so thick around it, I didn't even notice half of the drivers quarter was missing until the third time I looked at it. It has been there since '62 or so.

Is that a quarter panel I see behind it in the garage? How did you find THAT so fast?
What are your plans for it?

I've been trying to buy the coupe for a year, at the end of May I finally sealed the deal, and went in search of a quarter. Within three hours of posting a want ad on FordBarn, I had a deal made for one. The quarter arrived 6 week ago. Now if I could get some decent power to the garage, I could start burning this thing back together. Not sure of the direction of the car, probably low dollar and low tech, and some what traditional, but we'll see what the money allows for. heres the rust free Utah quarter (wish the rest of the car was this nice)

Somewhat trad? No. Traditional ALL THE WAY BABY! Nice find. I'd keep it in Ford blue, but that's just me. Good job on the rescue.

You'll have a lot of work ahead, but it'll be worth it. Looks like you need some rails; those are RUFF. If you don't have any lined up, I know of a few sets in TX. PM me, and I can go parts chasin...
That 56 ford looks like a pretty clean peice.Nice find on the coupe.I wish I could find something like that around here.

What does the decklid LOOK like?
It is as sad as the frame and other ground level pieces?
I have a 39 coupe decklid.......for sale.......I bought it for my 40, but as you may or may not know 39 and 40 are different.........inside. The outside skin is the same. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

thanks for the encouragement guys....
CrazyDaddy-I found a '35 slantback on its side in the trees that has a nice frame, so I should be ok, but thanks for the offer.
Assdragger- Sorry, I'm just not a sedan kind of guy
Deuce Roadster- The decklid is actually the nicest piece on the whole car, no rust, just a few dings. I figured it was worth the $400 purchase price alone. Also, I think it will be bumperless. I could use some detailed pics of what the toolbox/inner tailpan area is supposed to look like. This area is in sad shape, and its hard to tell whats what. Glad to see your coupe is back in shape.

CrazyDaddy- I could use a pic of the rear inside of the trunk floor (toolbox area) and maybe a pic of the tailpan from underneath. Pretty Please http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
34 GAZ- the coupe was laying right side up the whole time, its the '35 2dr sedan I found in the trees, thats on its side.

Will do. It's a '40, but they should be just about identical. My tool tray is also rusted out, but enough is there to see how it goes together.
