Some of the switches,like the VEGA,are tied to the fuel pump.
So when your wife runs it out of oil,it shuts off the gas;hopefully saving the motor.

Will an old(pre electronics)SBC switch screw in it's place ?

So wire the light inline between the 12v power and the SBC pressure switch.
I think it's called a ground iterrupt circuit.

One wire on your HILLBILLY PRO LIGHT goes to acc power,
the other to the normally open pressure switch.

I'm sure you can get a switch that will do exactly what you want from an industrial hydraulics supplier.
But it would not be cheap.

A rubber gasket(or duct tape http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif) will take care of the grounding on the light problem.
Then you just have to add another wire.

My autometer sending unit kicks my dummy light on whenever the pressure drops to 22 or lower PSI!?! Maybe I should try an OEM???

Hack, I always use a idiot light sender from a 76 Nova with 305 (same as what your Camaro would be). Wire it just like what you have diagrammed. The difference between most is that the cutoff pressure changes, from 5-10 psi or so. The autometer sender is just calibrated higher as HRTH stated. I like to add the idiot light in addition tot he gage in my cars. Seems that a 76 Nova is a common donor example for my sender requests.

The Vega sender can also be used just like you digrammed, but it has two extra terminals that close under pressure and are used to be a safety for the fuel pump, so that in case of oil pressure loss, the fuel pump stops getting current. Vega sender has three terminals.
