Thought I'd post a quick link to a Detroit-based site. Hearing about all sorts of stuff in the area, and wanted to hear from you guys to have a link to events and local rides. Let me know what's goin on, and not the over-polished Boyd-wannabe stuff. Email your pics, and we'll post 'em too!

Go easy on me, the web site is new, so it's gonna get better. Let me know how to make it great. Also, we'll be near Woodward on Normandy on Saturday, Aug 21.

Thanks for looking.

Why don't you tell us a little bit about yourself while you are at it.

Er, ah, ahem. Basically, I grew up right next to Detroit City Airport, and dad's main car was a '67 Firebird. We used to get to the drags whenever he wasn't working OT. he always had a Bridgeport in the garage and a load of project cars. Moved to Utica, where there were open roads to move on, then went to school to lurn tu draw cars. I work at GM now, but get all irritated when guys refer to California as "the place to be". It happened here, too. I guess that's reason No. 1 why we did the website. Gratiot, Woodward, the dragways that don't even exist anymore. Plus the guys like Al Bergler, the Alexander Brothers, and even old ice racing. I'm not saying we did it all, but there's a lot of history here. We'd like to start showing that. We've got a long way to go, but we also want to support the locals. That's about it. Low-budget, low-tech. My project starts in September.

Thanks for the welcome. If you guys have any pics of old drags and stuff, I'll be sure to get those posted. Did you see two years ago at Autorama the list of old dragways in the Detroit area? I knew about Detroit and Milan, but I sure didn't know ice racing was actually an organized thing. Maybe we could bring that back. In eskimo parkas.
