I saw the first copy to be shipped in this country on Friday and I have to say it is AMAZING! Totally worth the wait and has to be one of the best rodding books ever. The images and the art design are first class as you would expect from the Rodder's Journal folks. Every cover from the first 50 years are included and it completely validates that R&C is the greatest magazine ever. Copies will supposedly be in the country in the next couple weeks and again for how bitchin' this book is it's totally worth the wait.

I'm sure it's the same unbelievable quality in both content and design as their magazine, but in my mind it still doesn't make up for a full year of empty promises from them. Selling something that you don't have to sell is bullshit, no matter who's doing the selling.
Now back to your regularly scheduled oooh-ing and ahh-ing http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Me wants.
Just curious...
Why is this being published by TRJ and not Primedia?
Or are they one and the same now, but they just don't put their name on TRJ?
Oh yea, I'll buy it!

I looked for you there Tim but couldn't find you.
I tried to hunt you up too man. I left the vicky at home and drove my other turd (39 tudor). Joe and a couple of other guys said they ran into you, but it's a big place when you're looking for someone. Weather was great though wasn't it. I was hanging with the Maryland crew and Ray introiduced me to Steve, that's when I got to check out the book. You get some good stuff for R&C? Hope so... Tim

I totally agree. When I placed my order nearly ten months ago, there was no indication that the book wasn't available. Then later I emailed seeking advice as to when I could expect delivery after waiting paitiently for many months, I got no response at all.
I'm sure when (if) the book arrives I won't be dissapointed, but the 'customer service' from TRJ has been sadly lacking.

Let's hope the publisher also sees it that way. I'd hate to think that the guys producing some of the best rodding literature in the world don't really care for their customers.

Unfortunately, I DID get a response. The first time was an email saying it would be done on a particular date. When it wasn't, I called and was told that the publisher was going to the printer that very next week. That is when I cancelled my order...too many promises that weren't kept.
I hate to hi-jack this post because I'm sure it really is a great book. I just know that the TRJ folks occassionally check in here, and I think that it's important that they know that it DOES have an effect on their reputation when they are not straight forward with their customers.
