Got this problem with my windsor,it's on straight lpg, impco on a holley base, When it gets warmer than normal(peak hour traffic, towing) after a while it starts to hick up them eventually cuts out when I rev until it won't run, 1 hour later she's all good again, I've replace the coil, condencer, points, dizzy has been rebuilt, plugs and I can't find any holes in the converter and mixer for the gas..............any ideas?

You may have to just get in there while it's doing that to troubleshoot it. No doubt something simple but it gets expensive trying to guess what the troble is and throwing parts at it. I don't know squat about lpg except when the stove won't go I need to fill the bottle. Maybe it is getting some sort of vapor lock from the heat. You might check this by useing a small bottle of propane like a plumbers torch and running a hose into a vacuum port and keep the bottle inside the car/truck. Then when she starts to falter richen up the mixture with your bottle and see what happens. If it doesn't help you probably have a break downd in the spark some where.

How close does the fuel line run to the exhaust ?

I'm thinking the fuel is boiling before it gets to the carb, creating a vapor lock.

Anything you can do to improve the air flow,or insolate the fuel line would help.

Not the good with lpg but if it were gas i would say vapor lock. Check you fuel lines and pump if you have one

Does it backfire?
DOes it have a Ford "black box" ignition module?
If so ,replace it with a known good one, and check it again.

ahhhhhh its propane! is your regulator freezing up? keep your rad topped up so it circulates thru the regulator keeping it from freezing

sounds like either the spark control box,I always carry a spare,or I have seen the part in the distributor do the same thing,it's very rare but I did see one do just what your talking about, you have to do the same test as with the box, drive till it dies then swap it it real quick,it has been my experience that most testing machine can't detect the problem unless you can duplicate the conditions that it fails under. But then again when you put LPG in the equation all bets are off.

It's a 62 wag with a v8 conv, all components are after market. The water levek is all good and the mixer isn't freezing, I was thinking about turning up the gas flow to see if it works better. thanks guys
