thanks for the heads up! I recorded it and thought it was an excellent show aside from that old guy saying he was the first guy to say his car was finished still in primer in 1981 I know of at least 1 other guy who's was finished in 79 http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
PS anyone know where if at all on the internet that cartoon picture of the girl leaning over the fender while the guys are working on the car? I had that at one time in a magazine but have long since lost it
anybody know when it's on in the Seattle/Tacoma area?

That "old guy" was Robt. Williams, one of the most (formerly) respected guys on the Rod and Custom scene. He does some killer artwork, but alas, I guess his head got top-heavy and he had to spew stupid fer the camera.

crewcutkid, I can't say I'd ever heard of him, and from the sounds of it, I'm not alone. I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt until he started taking credit for doing in the 80s what guys were doing 40 years before him. He really came off like a jackass just about every time he opened his mouth. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

New to this scene. Just checked that episode out (Sunday afternoon with nothing better to do) and it led me here. Thought I was pretty much alone in old school. I think it's great to get the word out there about us po' white trash. Where can I get local info? Central Florida

Use the search function at the bottom of the main page,
and search for "Florida".
Might be a good idea to do an introduction in a seperate post.

The picture of the girl leaning over the fender was done by the (old guy), Robert Williams, years ago!
I`ve got that poster, along with others done by him, that I`ve had for years. Those posters are hard to find now but you can still find them on E-gay every now and then.
Robert Williams, (the first rat rodder) http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif also did the art inside the Appetite for Destruction album by Guns and Roses.
