New to the board, my name is Todd from the Kansas City area in Missouri. This time I am building a 56 Merc Medalist thats currently powered by 312 4bbl and 3 speed. Looking for other Merc/Ford guys that have experience in ugrading front suspension/steering without going the Mustang II route. http://www.geocities.com/stupidjeep (http://www.geocities.com/stupidjeep/merc4.jpg)

correct me if i'm wrong, but doesn't your car already have a balljoint front-end? if so,your best bet is probably rebuilding the stock stuff, and then playing with different shocks and springs to get it how you like it-george

Your right it is a ball joint front end. Although I personally reject most things that effect the car as far as being "period correct". I am looking at putting a power rack (supposedly 88 through 94 sunbird/cavilier fits) in the merc. Also, have heard that Granada spindles fit and drop the front 2". Wanted to see if anyone else had experience with doing either of these things. Fatman offers the Rack kit, but at $1200.00.
