View Full Version : Model A Frame Measurments Needed

My little MIG welder is penetrating like a stud. The chassis build is ON!

I have a center crossmember installed and everything from there back is all good but the front crossmember is gone and the rails need to be spread out a bit at the cowl.

My question: What is the measurement between the front two body mount holes on a '28/'29 chassis?

This is really the only measurement I need as from there forward the rails will taper to form a nice "wedge" look with a narrowed Whippet grille shell.

Anyone know that measurement or have a scan of the Wescott's catalog page that would show it?

Thanks, JH

Just went and measured my 28, and they are 26 1/2 from center to center of the front body mounting holes just behind the firewall. Good luck with your project......Scott

Check the Tech Archives under " http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=98330 ". Lots of great plans and the measurements you are looking for.
