Okay first let me say sorry for not having a camera with me, but I didn't think I would find any cars so no pictures, and its bout 100 miles from where I live, so none likely unless they send me back.

Anyway... I went to give an ASVAB test over towards Poplar Bluff and then towards Cape and on the way over I see a flash of glass in a field.

Didn't stop till on the way back today and there's this great old fellow named Bennie who owns the following.

47 chev 4 door sedan
52 Chebby 4 door
52 Pontiac 4 door fastback Body rough but fixable.
53 Ford $600 6 popper with a 3 speed on the column.
55 Chev 4 door
58 Chev Wagon $500 with 283 and trans too
60 Chev Wagon
I think a Minneapolis Moline tractor with a really cool 30's looking grill on it. Another tractor with exposed gears for turning the front wheels. Some old shit there.

Most of the cars are 4 doors and the 58 wagon had all of the glass in it with no cracks chips delaminations or anything like that. The 60 wagon winshield was cracked but low and would probably pass inspection in the state. All the other glass was there.

Others were broken out and kids have jumped the roof on the ford and a couple of others. Could they be fixed? Not a body dude so don't know.

Now.. All are for sale. Only asked on the two so don't have anything else for you, but the pontiac and the 47 chev and the 52 chev are across the road and a bit rougher so might be cheaper. I just don't know.

Here's where they are. Right on Mo. 60 Hiway about a mile west of Birch Tree Mo. There's a state road right next to where the cars are. M north and U south.

His wife runs a Salvage Grocery and I bought three candy bars for a buck. Shot the shit and talked cars and hung out for a while. Salt of the earth type of people.

Great old car guy lost his sight in 84 and the cars haven't moved since then. Least wise I don't think so. They are pretty rough. No floors in most of them. Bad hood on the 58 wagon but all the glass was there, it might be a good buy.

Anyway you Missouri guys if you are down there might wanna check them out.

I gotta get me a camera to keep in the car when I travel I guess. Anyway

Best to you guys and gals and hope ya find some great stuff. Its out there.

See ya
Von Dad

Good report VonDad, keep your eyes open. Those 58 wagons look pretty tough slammed and scalloped.

We just drove back from St. Louis and it looks like the guy in Bates City moved somewhere else. I always stopped by and found a few deals from him. And he alway's had on a white suit.

Kansas

Does anyone know where he moved to?

Hey VonDad, there's two 58' chev 4dr.wagons on a farm right at the Rolla city limits. There's a 54'ford 2dr. wagon in town for $600.00. I'm trying to help a friend find a 60's mopar wagon for drag racing. There was a 67-68 Coronet behind a bodyshop at the Waynesville exit off I-44. I'm looking for additional model T sheet metal for my lakes modified project. Let's get together for breakfast some Saturday morning this Winter. Sam

Sounds like a real w(e)in(n)er. Hey Mo Junk, have you been to the old yard in Salem? Crazy guy runs it. Its the one with the old buses used as a fence, and some cool old cars sitting around rusting away. Last I went (couple years ago) he had a whole 49-50 Ford 2dr with a flat 6. In goooooood shape, and ran. Had some old old iron there too, probably T's and A's, all stuck in a big brushpile. Let us know if you want to go visit, we'll hook up with ya. I need to go huntin parts for the Byooik, and can't remember if he's got any there or not.

Assdrager, were all Martins. My big Mro is John Martin, is a building contractor, other brother is Verrel Martin, Roofing contractor. My Dad is John Martin, Too, owns property all over Fulton. About 1/2 of Tyler Street, some on Jefferson on east avenue and a few other on RT. NN.
