I just wanted to say hello. My name is Edwin but folks call me the grass hopper cuz the off road buggy i drive.i live in Round Rock,TX and i own a 4WD shop
Crow (from this board) turned me on to this board. I have always liked the old school way of building a rod. I am trying to buy a 1930 modal A 2dr sedan from my father in-law right now. If all goes well i should have it soon and my plans are to remove the F/R fender, the motor and trany put an early V8 in it a long with the correct trany & axle set up, chop 3" out of the top, channel the tub and drive it like i stole it. It’s a really nice rusty color and i think that’s the way it's going to stay.
any how thanks and i hope to meet some of ya'll at the drags in few weeks.

it's pretty quick for the first twenty feet or so and at least I wouldn't have to do any spottin.

Folks, Edwin's(Grasshopper)rod interest has recently been seriously rekindled(he once had a straight axle 63 Nova gasser that never quite got finished but man it was cool) , you will see some neat stuff out of him, I guarantee. Welcome!

Welcome, I've seen alot of folks hear ask questions about 1/4 elliptical suspension, after seeing your rig you might be the one to ask http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thanks allot guys. Sorry i did not post back sooner. I have been out looking for old cars all day with my 4 year old son. Man let me tell you its hard keeping him still for hours at a time in the truck. I did find a 1946 ford truck that the guy is willing to sell along with a flathead 8 and transmission but all i want is the motor and trany. Oh well. He is asking $1000.00 for all of it. if any one is looking for some kind of truck let me know i have found allot of '40-'60 trucks but so far no model A cars or trucks. i love driving around in these old towns looking for stuff. Brings back good memories of when i was first getting started in land cruiser.

Thanks Crow for posting up pixs of my buggy I hope to have a few of my model A soon for you to post. Yes I have done a few ¼ elliptical set ups on off road truck. If you have any questions please fill free to ask I am no master but so far they seem to be working just fine.

Once again Thank ya’ll and I hope I can help any one of ya’ll out if ya’ll need it. As I am sure I will be asking a few questions my self from time to time.
