well boys and girls here is a little more on the saga of the Levis Classic TUDOR CHOP! it's been a 'pick at it here and there' job the last couple weeks cuase it's sorta a goodbuddy/FREEBIE job. well, i get some cool parts in trade so it all works out http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif...
anyway, finished welding up the right rear section along with the back window. rememeber the back window is chopped 2 1/2" and the rest of the top is cut 3 1/2" for better proportions and little better view out the back.

took a long time to weld all this up. several nights in fact, but if you want it to turn out nice you gotta take your time.

you may recall from a previous installment how we removed the 3 1/2" from the TOP of the A-pilar because of the taper of that post. well in doing so we removed the recessed area that the upper hinge mounted to along with one of the holes the visor mounts to. here is the finished pic after i cut out a flat section and welded the recessed section in place. much care must be taken to ensure that it is in teh exact right spot so the hinges all work properly and everything lines up right. i'll try to get some more under construction pics of this process tommarow when i do the other side...

i have a question
why the three cuts in the radius
did you have to pie cut that spot to get it to line back up?
i plan on taking 6" out of my 30 tudor
it looked to me like it would just come straight down
i figured i would need to adjust the a pilar a little to make it the same width top to bottom but i really thought the rest was a straight drop
just wondering i plan on doing this within the next week or two and it looks like you would know what im getting into
thanks

Looking great Mike as usual!
Mike will be up this weekend to pick thru the stash - I think he deserves a few more dont you?
Levi, you are going to wind up with a really nice car.
Mike, your skills amaze me.
I was mesmorized watching you peak Big olds hood at Frank's place.
The proportioning of the rear window ahould be mandatory for each and every chop.
Looking forward to your further work.
And, Yes! Ryan most assuredly should allow you to combine the posts in Tech Week.
Yours and Fatlucky's are great stuff.
