We were about 20 minutes outside of Tacoma, on our way to the Hot Rod a Rama on I18 in the pouring-down rain. When comming around a corner traffic was at a dead stop. Mike was towing all 3 roadsters on the trailer and had nowhere to go but down the middle of both lanes of traffic. The truck and trailer went over the back of a Ford Taurus, went airborn and side swipped 5 other cars. No one was hurt, but the tow truck is totaled.
We don't know how to get the cars home. The trailer has no damage. Mike has full coverage insurance on the 1992 F350 we were using, so at the very least he won't be out much as far as replacing the truck I hope. Right now we are weighing our options. Anyone have any ideas?
We'll be at the swiss tonight though dammit! Nothing will stop us!

Hit the yellow pages looking for a truck leasing company is about all I know. Maybe a HAMBer in the area could help you out. Anyone out there? I saw the title and figured you grenaded the coupe http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif Whew! Just the tow rig! Good luck.

We found a truck to get the trailer off of I18 and it will take the trailer to the hotel. We still have to figure out how to get it home on sunday / monday...
I've got my wireless laptop with me and I will be checking this post often. If you guys have any ideas, post them.
Much thanks!!

Kris HOLY SHIT MAN! Glad to hear all you fellas are Ok. Hope Mike is Ok too. You know my ugly brown Van? If yer pops is still here in Utah......he's welcomed to use it. Its got a 460 all set up for towing. All you need is to slide the hitch in. My dad used to haul his trailer all around the western States with it. She uses forever gas but has the balls to pull stumps. You know my number gimmie a call if ya need to use it.

Good idea Mike, but do you think that your van would pull a 24' 11,000 lb trailer without wipping? The guys are saying they don't think so.

I read about you guys coming up here on another post. Glad everyone's alright. Hiway 18 is always a problem area. I'm fairly new on the HAMB, but live close to Tacoma so if you need any more help, I would do what I could.

Looks like we got it all handled. One of the club's members who didn't come with us is going to come and rescue us. We'll leave the wrecked truck here and come back and get it in a couple of weeks. Thanks for all of the help everyone!

I was waiting for some limp dick to come up with a comment about the trailer.
If you don't like that, FUCK YOU! They aren't your cars!
Ya know, we brought 5 (most daily driven) hot rods to this event. Some of the hot rod's owners couldn't come with. So rather than leave the rods home we threw the cars on the trailer and went. If you don't like that, FUCK YOU! They aren't your cars!
Why didn't you drive YOUR roadster to Tacoma, 2400 miles from home in the pouring down rain? These are OUR cars. We will do with them as WE please. If you don't like that, FUCK YOU! They aren't your cars!
This post was about trying to get some help. Not about your two-bit opinion. Those who don't like what we do with our cars:
FUCK 'EM..... FUCK 'EM IN THE ASS WITH A BIG RUBBER DICK!

My appologies for the trailer statement, sometimes late at night shit comes out of me that I would normally have sense and tact enough to keep to myself. I hope you guys get there ok. You will have a story to tell for along time.

My appologies also. I know about the late night thing, plus I was a little on the drunk side after the swiss closed. No hard feelings.

We just pulled up stakes and are headed back to Salt Lake. Thanks to everyone up here in Washington. The boys and I all have had a good time despite the bad luck with the 9 car pile up and Deek's distributor vs. rain deal. The show, the bands, THE PEOPLE and the partys were all kick ass! (thanks Dale) We'll be back for the fourth Hotrod a Rama next year without question. I didn't have time to take a hole bunch of pictures, but I did get a few. As soon as I find my usb cable I'll do a post and give you guys what I have.
See you guys on the salt this weekend!!!!
