When using those spray-on/brush on paint strippers, i.e. aircraft stripper, what prep needs to be done to the metal before I shoot the primer? How do I make sure all the residual stripper is off?
The previous owner of my new project painted it with latex house paint and a brush! The mint green has got to come off! No need to discuss the pros/cons of using this stuff. I don't have time to sand it off and it's just a beater shop truck.

Follow the direction's on the back of the can. Lot's of rinse and making sure none is left behind: seam's,gutter's, ect.

I always use the brush-on stuff...it rinses off so make sure you give it a good spray with the hose. i always follow it up with some degreaser.

Use hot water rinses if you can.
It dissolves residuals much better.

I try to NEVER use water to clean bare metal, unless the product I am using specifies to do so. When I prep something using a paint stripper, I clean with lacquer thinner to remove the stripper. Once I have done that, I DA the bare area to get ready for self etch primer. It's not a huge ordeal. Be sure you pay attention to preparation, ESPECIALLY if you use water on bare metal.
Hope I could help,

I usually use it on aluminum so i'm not too worried about gettin water on it..just give it a good blast from the compressor.
