While we are a little into the boat stuff today, here's what I picked up from a wrecking yard the other day. Ok, a local motocycle dealer gave Me the tip.
It's a A motor with a Stratmann Marine manifold. Intake and exhaust are one piece. Has a usual 3spd (like new inside)with factory? open drive conversion. Never seen that before.

Hey thanks for the Photo!
There's a guy in Madison Wisconsin that has a 1936 16' Chiscraft thats running that setup with a V-drive! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif
(16 footers are short and needed a small engine and the V-drive had the in-out box in front of the engine alowing the prop shaft to maintain the correct angle! Just in case you wanted to know). http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
Was somebody using this in a car??? http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif Do you want to sell it or are you going to use it?? http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

No, this came out of some old aluminium boat(WW2 Wehrmacht-Pioniers). It was not original in that boat, the owner swapt engines sometimes in the 50's. Model A trucks where fairly common over here after the war, so engines where around in numbers. The boat had a good scrap value (alu) thats why the guys from the yard did cut it up pretty quick. The engine was left over. I have another very good A engine with a single downdraft intake and a 81 carb. I will cut off two old A exhaustmanifolds use the rear parts and make a dual exhaust out of it. My plan is to put that tranny and good engine together, put it in an original A frame and use a old Volvo or what ever open drive axle. An 23 bucket over the frame. A low buck project. The intake is maybe for sale, but I would prefer to swap for some other speed stuff. I'm lookin specially for an 2x2 Hexagon Tool air cleaner, a magneto angle drive (Vertex to early Ford) or a Model A/B magneto side drive conversion bracket and cover.

Sounds like a fun combination for your project car!
I do believe that the Chris Craft I saw was original, and it came with a large spark arrestor.
Let me check around with my boat friends on this ..., I might have a buyer if it is a match.
