i got two motors

1st, o8o963I F54Y valve cover has 4 screws holdint on around the sides
2end, LAA647046 valve cover has 2 bols through center holding it on

can some one tell me what i got, please i think the first one is a 235,

first one's a 235 second is a 216.

are the oil pan gaskets the same?

inliners.org has all the casting numbers. not all 235s are the same... there are early and late ones. I believe that the pans are the same though. You have to go by the casting numbers. You can put a valve cover with the 2 center holes onto any 235.

A quick way to tell a 235 from a 216 is that the side cover on a 216 is taller and includes the spark plug holes... a 235 side cover is short and bolts up welll below the spark plugs
