Hi all...New to the board and posting for the first time.

As a fan of the movie American Graffiti, and past owner of many Corvettes, I have always wondered about the White with Blue Stripe Vette at Mel's Drive In.
There have been models made of this car (an incorrect 62 Roadster) when it is obviously a 58-60. There is almost no talk of it as a surviving movie car and nearly no information to be had on it. I think that it is a little odd for a car that was in nearly every shot of Mel's Drive in, the "home base" of the movie of sorts, to have so little said about it, especially among Corvettes folks.
I have recently thought that this car may have been only a shell and was not a running car. Maybe a trailered in prop?? It seems that it is always in the same parking spot, no matter where the movie is chronologically. I have also noticed that there is no speedometer in the car. The gauges also look a little suspect. Does anyone have any input or info on the car? I am thinking of doing a clone of it for fun project.

Thanks.
