I have rebuilt all the wheel cylinders and the master cylinder on my 54, and still dont get much pedal. When I honed the pieces they were pretty chewed up, but I got it close to perfect. WHat eles can I do? The master cylinder cost $220 and looks like it needs to be a special one just cause it is a powerglide tranny. What does this have to do with anything? When I took it out I didnt notice it connected to the tranny in any way.

You can have your master cly. brass sleeved for about 60.00. Look in Hemmings for a number of shops.

Thanks, that will help out. Meanwhile, I guess the foot through the floor board is just gonna have to work.

Remove the coil wire until you've got it fixed. A car that won't start is infinately safer than one that won't stop. The life you save may be your own.
