Well friends, after a lot of sweating and teeth grinding, looks like we’re finally a-go for the next Pistons and Paint show!! Make plans now! Here’s the details:

Saturday September 18th, 2004
Blazers Bowling Alley

Schedule:
set up: 8am-11am
show: 12pm-5pm
awards: 5pm-6pm
tear down: 6pm-8pm
bands begin: 9pm-?

I don't think that the Chupes put the show on "to make money"...
That's not what it's about with these guys...
It's about bringing everyone together, having a good time, making new friends and having a few drinks with old friends.
If they were "in it to make money" the guest artist would be Coop... not Johnny Ace!

The Show &amp; Go has been nice enough to offer up thier parking lot for free the last couple of years and being a "non profit" type club you have to take what you can get. We have been looking for a bigger spot that would be suited to our type of car show and we think we have found it this year. Our apologies go out to Elrusto and anyone else who couldnt get in the last couple of years. We shouldn't have parking problems this year. I think we tripled the capacity of the parking lot. BUT..

YOU NEED TO PREREGISTER!

If you do the cost is only $20 dollars and that includes a T-shirt and a free game of bowling. If you wait, the cost is $25 with no freebies.

As for the profitability issue, we just hope to break even. We just want everyone to have a good time, and provide a nice show for the good N. Texas and Okalahoma crews that alway supports events around Texas.

I would LOVE to see more Continentals make the drive north and throw some support to guys that make the trip to Austin EVERY year.

Other pluses this year include, $1.50 longnecks at the bar, a huge aircondition area for vendors and art displays. This should be a blast.

Oh, The motel is only about $35 a night. I strongly encourage anyone that likes to drink to book a room. The Chupes would really hate to have any accidents or have any fellow hot rodders thrown in the pokey after this event.

No trophy for El Rusto. Had the Power Parking but still nothing. I think the NASCAR car dude with Trophy girl got all the attention. This year will be sweat though with all the parking. This could turn into the Dallas area Roundup. Very highly talked about get together that everyone wants to go to. Now that there will be alot of room the show will be great. Man but the chocalate cookies were so good at Whataburger but I guess its worth getting more buds together to talk about hotrodding. I can't wait I am gonna get there early so I can park next to ElRusto.

Y'all will have plenty of Kontinentals up for the show, our big problem is so many members work weekends.


It's tough to get time off when half the club is in the entertainment bizz.

I'll be on tour in Finland this year so once again I'll miss out.

buzzard works every Saturday and It takes an act of God for him to get time off. He didn’t even get to come to the park on Saturday of the roundup last year.

El Jefe as a club owner gets stuck in town dealing with big weekend shows.

Jimmie, well he’s always out playing somewhere.
Charlie sexton too.

Will is also a club owner (Lucky Lounge) and head food and beverage vendor for all the big events in Austin.

Scotty, also a working musician.

Beatnik is snowed over with design work for the Lance Armstrong foundation and The John Wayne foundation.
That's why he hasn’t been around here at all the last few months.

Mike, Runs all over the green earth running his many business' plus trying to be a husband and father.

Thank God for Mercury Charlie, Fatlucky (Sean), Outlaw (Tyler), Hot wheel(Reggie) and Evilfordcoupe (Jason). Our front men when it comes to representing the club at all the shows we can't roll in mass to.

I bet some of Houston Konts will be there also.
