My name is Jeremy Calow and I live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I grew up with cars in my family and have found that customs and hotrods are becoming an intregal part of my life. I am 22 years old and have graduated with a degree in Archaeology. Right now I own a 1970 Oldsmobile 442 convertible which has been in my family since 1970. It was a pace car in the can-am races in edmonton Canada in 1970. I also have purchased a 2004 Saturn Vue V6 AWD. This is my 3rd car and I know not much of a hot rod, but I am still young. I look forward to talking with all of you and learning from you as well.

Hmmmmm, lemmee see...22 years old, degree in archaeology, couple of cars way too new for this board...guess that qualifies you to dig up an old ancient 30's square body of some sort...perhaps roll the lid back on a forties fat fender from it's sarcophogus...maybe even unearth a fifties Meteor up there somewhere...heh, heh, heh...oh to be 22 again...
BTW, welcome to this board...save your money, find yourself a suitable "traditional" car and maybe someone will relieve you of that 442 one of these days...

You bet, in the process of finding a suitable project and some place to put it in. But all good things come to those who wait.. .. .right?

I don't think that the 442 will be leaving my family anytime soon. Its kinda like a family member now. But who knows I guess anything is possible.
Welcome, from the original Duck. Keep your eyes peeled for a new ride, just don't settle for something that's not quite what you want. One will come around soon enough.

welcome Jeremy! Thanks for buying the VUE. The 442 would make a good parts car for a rod! Glenn

Jeremy....here's a story for you...draw your own parallels.
Once upon a time I bought a 75 Hurst Olds from a buddy...it was a really good car but after driving it around a few months, I hated the fact I spent my hot rod money on this psuedo musscle car...it was soooooooo new!
I ran into another buddy that was thinkin of selling his 51 vicky with a new, hot flathead in it so he could buy his wifey a daily driver. We swapped, even up.
Best swap I ever made! I drove the snot outta the vicky and had a blast with it while his wife drove the Olds into the ground. It finally developed a bad valve cover leak onto the headers and caught fire on the interstate....no more olds.
Point is, you could swap off the olds for a traditional car. The kind we all worship here on the HAMB. Time will tell if you're really HAMB material. I hope you are but you'll have to persue a deal on a traditional car soon...
Good luck...may the force be with you.
