I have been looking locally for a minibike. Something my 6yr old son and I can have some fun on but have come up empty. What do you think about this rig? Any suggestions as I shop around? Thanks.

Hit the small engine repair shops... especially BEHIND the small engine repair shops. Around here go-cart 'projects' are easier to find, but minibikes are out there. Squank was $50 with a non-running 3hp Tecumseh... good deal.

You can put a standard 2 or 3 horsepower Briggs & Stratton or Tecumseh horizontal shaft engine on a standard bicycle as a low cost, homebuilt alternative.
I did it last Summer, worked real well. The bike was faster than I'd dare to find out and totally reliable after the carb was sorted out, I rode it everywhere and loved it.
I'll try to dig up the tech post I did on it. It's easy.
I don't have an engine for ya, but I do still have the bike, the clutch, and all the mounting brackets if you want it...no big deal to put it together if you find a used engine locally?
