OK guys...time to get serious. I've talked my dad into letting me buy the car from him for the same price he paid for it 2 weeks ago. He was about to get busy ordering resto parts (carpet, trim upholsery, etc) and have it painted, but I told him I'd buy it as soon as I sold my other car.
Before bringing it up here to Waco, I'm planning to let my buddies throw the right colors on it...
I'm looking for some ideas. I wan to keep it simple & traditional...but keep my tight budget into consideration.
Maybe Black with Charcoal or Silver Metalflake on top, lowered with black steelies, trim rings, & spider caps, maybe some grille treatment...or go your own way with it.
Thanks!

chopped and slammed and shaved? http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
Sorry, not much of a shopper but I had a 62 in high school and I made some blocks and cut the front coils to lower it about 5 inches or so and then stuck some Foxcraft skirts on it and left it alone exeptfo a few engine tweaks. It was one sweet little ride.

39, thanks, but you made my building short as hell! It's a 60'x160' and 20' tall, i think it's around 12' tall now! j/k
Crow, sounds great, I've got some plans for the susp and motor myself...let's just say it'll have the power of BOOST. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Simplicity...I like it...probably end up going that route. I just wanna see what can be done with paint...since my friend's in Corpus Christi will paint anything for me at the cost of supplies only...and they do sick work. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

The better the picture is that you start out with, the better it will end up. The problem with your picture is that its all rusty and blotchy, when someone changes the color on a photochop, it relies on all the hues of the original color, so I could make your car another color, but it would be all blotchy. Otherwise its just practice really. Hope that helps you out.

Well I'm busting my ass to sell my car, so I can hurry and get this car from my dad. I'm planning to have it ready for Pistons & Paint in Mid Sept.!!!
I wonder how she'd look whit another color in the body line through the middle...

One thing I keep wishing is that there were larger versions of these images somewhere... like having the smaller version on the thread with a link to a larger version stored somewhere like Photobucket. The larger image could then be reduced in size and reposted to the board once the chopping & coloring was done.
Just a thought, anwyay.
That, and lots of practice. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I tell ya Mr. Hardcore, I eventually sprayed a clear pearl over my stock white and that looked very nice, always thought some flat white ghost flames or scallops would've been nice.
