...so what just is the deal with this stuff. I'm gearing up to redo the New Yorker for paint and there is a lot of light surface rust over the whole thing. I was planning on doing it the old fashioned way I'm used to, but I gotta ask. Has anybody used the stuff? Anybody know anybody whose used the stuff? Is it worthwhile?

i had the same on my girls '61 bel air, sanded it (still had slight pitting), thined it down and sprayed it on. it's only been 2 months but with dp40 over it, it hasn't bubbled yet. i've used it on rusty frames and it's held fine for 3 years. just to be on the safe side i would use a primer sealer (like dp40 or dp90) over it so it won't screw with the topcoat.

I've used a boat load of the stuff. It appears to work well. It isn't all that tough though - it will scratch off without much effort.
I plan of sealing mine after the encapsulator too. It says on the side of the can that it may interfere with some top coats. I think laquers
