What is happening in Austin in February ? My father will be there for a month and I think if there is something interesting/worth while going on I may head out for a few days. I need to start planning though as I need to request the time off soon.

Something's GOT to be going on 'cause they NEVER leave Austin!

Seriously, you could be there on a Tuesday and it's still cool. There aren't many events ('cept the Roundup) but check in closer to the date and they'll probally recommend meeting up at the Continental Club or Dirtys Hamburgers.

ModBeat, why leave Austin?

Let’s see,
Paso, check always Kontinentals there.
Mmmm HAMB drags, yep Kontinentals there.
So cal open house, check few of us there also.
Denison, you got it.

The club may not roll out in full force to every single happening. But that's because allot of us work weekends, some in jobs that require allot of traveling.
You can't Do em' all.

Most of our off time is taken up by planning and putting on the Lone Star Round up (tm) and the Day of the Drags.
There’s hardly time to work on our projects. That's why you haven't seen my Chevy, buzzards Olds, beatniks Roadster, and on and on...

Ya dig?

Besides, I've been lucky enough see the world,
And still I say why leave Austin?

Yeah, just giving you guys a light poke in the ribs.

If I still lived in Austin, I don't think I'd leave very often. And I always forget that you and Buzz have weekend career duties. I did too for a while. That really puts a limit on the number of weekends you take and makes you pick and choose what events make the list.

Anyway, I'd love to see a Kontinentals club presence at a few more outside of Austin events rather than just giving the hi-sign to Outlaw who seems to make every event no matter what the milage.

On the other hand, If I had to choose between having the Roundup or Kontinental pressence at the Deuce Reunion, I'd stick with the Roundup.

:-)

Hell, all I am trying to do is sell my house to GET to Austin! Anyone want to buy a restored house in Riverside, CA? http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Don't forget the HAMB drags! And I seem to recall a few of us at Pistons 'n' Paint, and a couple at Fort Worth Goodguys, and even one guy who went to eat breakfast with the Barons. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

If there's nothin' else goin' on in Feb. we can take you on a couple shop tours.
