He painted my old car, "Angel Dust", and also the green/silver metalflake Olds that has been seen here a lot. A while back he emailed me pix of a 55 Pontiac Safari that he painted metaflake gold/orange. Does anyone have any pix of this car? My computer got a virus and had to be rebuilt, thus resulting in loss of pix and his email.

no, but you're talking about that green 60 olds, right? I have pics of that. Can you tell me what product/code/etc he used to get that green??? I need to know!!

Thanks!
Joe

I think he paints his cars metalflake silver and then a candy over it (I know that's what he did with his magenta chevy), the safari was prolly painted metaflake rainbow gold with the red being a candy over that.

so, silver flake... but what color is that green? what basecoat? HOK lime doesn't quite look right, but it's hard to tell from the net sometimes

Actually his bro Carlos is the gunslinger for all the sick flake jobs. Jav is the evil mastermind.

That chevy was my old one....90's GM silver base with HOK Magenta with HOK silver with rainbow flake on the silver and red/blue flake on the magenta.

That is the olds I was talking about......

I am trying to re-obtain the pix of the 55 pontiac safari, painted just like the Olds but in gld/orange.

That's exactly what he does, metalflake base with candies over it to create the final color, here's a couple detail shots to see it better...

Well, I once heard you could get some of that chunky ass glitter glue, smear it out pretty even over a metallic base, shoot two coats clear, fine wet sand,'haze' to produce a contrast tint, two more clear.
I'm going to experiment on the aqua scallops on my '62 and see what I can produce....
PS-Outlaw's roof is pretty sick in that Schwinn bike seat way http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif
