I wonder if any of you that are running these wheels have had any probs. finding an auto/tire shop that can balance these old wide 5 pattern wheels? I am going to use them and I wonder if you know of a particular shop such as Pep Boys or whatever can balance them. Also, I would like to know what sizes of tires you run for a front and rear combo, big and little for example. the rims are 16" but I don't want too big in the rear. I like the old 40's era style skinnier front and rear combos. what do you run?
thanks fellas

There's a guy on ebay that sell an adapter for balancing these. Sorry no link though.

I have all my tire stuff done by a little hole in the wall independant, 1 guy shop... he just did my "wide 5" vw bus wheels on a bubble balancer, they ride nice, though the vehicle is rarely capable of 80 mph...

If you find a wheel alignment shop that's been around for ages, they may have an adapter to mount the wheels in their balancing machine. Otherwise find a shop that can spin balance them on your car.
I run 600 & 700-16 WWWs on my coupe, and 450/475 & 700-16 blackwalls on my pickup.

a 'bubble balancer' ok....thanks for the tip, I doubt the 4 banger a motor will do more than 55 so I'll be fine..haha

FYI, I have 5.00/5.25 and 7.50 16's on my p/u.
The 6.00/7.00 combo looks pretty good on a early style car though.
My boss's 28 roadster has the 6.00/7.00 combo.

Had mine balanced on the car, it rides well. Currently running 6.00/7.50 and the proportion looks right on a early stlye vehicle.
