I guess I'll start with what I am about, and count on you people to let me know if I should stay.

I have been into "Hot Rods" since '86, starting with a 65 El Camino. In '89 I bought a 65 Chevelle 2 door wagon, but really wanted a 32 Ford Sedan. Finally in '99, I found my steal 2 door Sedan and have been working on it ever since. I put it on the road in '05 and have about 6000 miles on it so far.

I am into doing things myself and would hope that this forum would be a resource for me to learn some stuff and to possibly share a few tricks I have come up with along the way.

As far as style, I am not 100% sure what to call it. I understand that "Rat Rod" is out, and that is fine with me. I actually do enjoy seeing them at shows, but that is not what I am going for. I am leaving my Sedan unchopped because I like the way Henry built it. I do have a much better stance with gray spoke Torque Thrust D wheels, a big-n-little set of tires and four links front and rear. I am using polished stainless and aluminum under the hood, in the dash area, and for the exhaust. It does have A/C, leather seats, cruise control, four wheel disk brakes, tilt column, etc.. I have done all the work myself except I started with a stage III frame, and I had an exhaust guy do the custom 2.5 inch pipes.

Some of the home built aspects I am a little proud of are;

polished stainless air intake snorkle, made from 304 stailess exhaust pipe, split down the middle with 3" of sheet metal welded in to make it into a 180 degree oval. It came out nice and I get positive comments.
retracting license plate. This was a $5 solution using a heater duct vacuum servo, a bicycle cable and the hingled plate from an 80s Camaro.I enjoy a good home built solution over a "look what I bought" solution any day.

Let me know if you think I belong.

i don't feel like it is up to anyone to say if someone belongs or not. so with that, i would like to say welcome to the hamb! i hope you enjoy your stay and find what your looking for. this is such a great place, there is so much to see and learn. just try not to get too obsessed like i sometimes get and end up spending more time on the hamb than actually getting out there and working on our old hot rods. i admire all of the home built aspects you've shared. don't stop doing it and share more when you can.

Yeah. You should stay. If you got a car or like to work on them that's all that's necessary. However, if you got a thin skin and can't take a few jabs once and a while your in the wrong place. Welcome.

Sounds like you are in and if you post of picture or 2, you will probably definitely be in. You seem to already understand and have figured out how to avoid the biggest mistake that pisses some people off before even your first post. Got to give you a lot a credit for that right from the start. I give you my welcome.

Dude the HAMB is for everyone. You can learn more here than anywere else on the web. Who knows you might stay on for a bit and decide your next hot rod might be a ultra traditional high quality deal.

'32 Ford, Ewwwww, No, go away. Nobody here likes those :D Groucho Marx said, "I'd never join a club that would have me as a member." While the HAMB ain't exactly a club just remember, were just a collection of miss fits anyway. Besides, if you goof up there's always some smart ass right there to tell you what a idiot you are. The HAMB's like life, you run into some really good people and some you could do without. You'll fit in fine.

Welcome, hang out for awhile, get a feel for things.

Opinions are welcome but always be prepared for flak from other "opinionated" folk. It's a good place to learn, have a few laughs and meet some really nice people.

Welcome to the HAMB! Since you own a Deuce Tudor, I'd say you have excellent taste in old Ford's, but then I'm biased. Glad to hear you drive your car and build your own stuff for it. There is plenty to read and learn from this site, especially tech and answers to questions. Try the search feature first and you will be amazed at the volume of information that comes up. Just for fun, make your first search "HAMB Deuce Club" and enjoy the parade.

Contribute if you can, keeping it within the 'traditional" theme of the board.

Like shadowmtkustomz says, the only danger is spending more time here than out in the garage working on you hot rod!

Central Jersey. More toward the western side. I see a horse farm out my front window. Wish I owned it.

No gold chains here. The grease under my finger nails is all the bling I wear aside from my "honey-do" ring.

Yeah, you'll do, even with the '32 and coming from NJ. I grew up in Mt Holly, but I sure don't recognize South Jersey anymore. You can learn a lot here and maybe help us, too. Nobody knows it all.Don't be afraid to stick your neck out-that's how the turtle gets ahead. But like the turtle, on the HAMB y'all gotta have a thick shell. Now, where are those pictures?
